Hi,
All the suggestions given above are great but here is another one..in my office we had organized a collage competition..theme was independence day..but I personnaly think this is more effective with a group size of 130 -150.
Happy Indepence Week to all
Cheers
Meetali. :)

one who rocks the cradle wins the world.
1 You may have song /drawing /poem competion on Bhara mata
2 More than that a brain storming on the credo/philosophy/future of your company.
3 The entire programme could be open for all the family members of your company

Hi,
We had a Floor Decoration Contest and a Independence Day related quiz. We asked questions randomly on each floor and gave away small gifts. Having a dress code is a good idea. You ask ask your employees to be either dressed in the colours-saffron, green, white, navy blue....one doesnt have to wear all the colours. You could arrange for a chat stall in the office premises as well.
Thanks,
Arpi.

Dear All,

As स्वतंत्रतादिवस is round the corner :)...we propose to celebrate 61years of Independent India at Tricolite with style!!

On the eve of Independence Day.... Thursday 14th Aug, 08 All Tricolitians shall come together to bring out amongst us the true spirit of Independent India through a

'Theme' dressing with a twist !

Each Department shall be required to follow a dress code of a state of their own choice. Your team may choose to represent one of the following states:

East India- West Bengal, Orissa, Mizorum, Manipur, Nagaland
West India- Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra
North India- U.P., Punjab, Haryana, Uttaranchal
South India- Kerala, tamlnadu, goa, Andhra pradesh

We would like to request each department head to nominate one employee to represent the team and select one of the above states. He/She can send in the team's theme to Shiuli/Simpi, latest by Saturday, 9Aug08.

What's more? There shall be secret judges planted in your neighboring departments to select the best dressed male and best dressed female employees in each department.

Further, you may decorate your office /department area to depict the theme. Click pictures of your work area and send them to us and the most creative and enthusiastic team/department shall win a

SPECIAL AWARD………!! :)

So get together and start planning for Thursday, 14Aug08 with your teams and celebrate the true spirit of Independent India !!

Dear Kavita,
We at our office celebrate Independence Day by doing a "tilak" & by pinning a tricolour flag on the lapel of every employee.
The dress code for the day is "traditional wear" with any combination of orange/white/green. All the employees gather in the conference room to start with the National Anthem followed by gift distribution for the best dressed employee. The Notice Board is decorated with the Independence Day Theme & office is decorated with tricolour balloons.
Hope you must have now got a fair idea & you can celebrate it in your office too !!

HI
First of all decorate your office in the spirit of Independence Day. The office should have that kind of Aura..next, as told by many of my friends, invite participation by all employees by conducting Quizes, Slogan, Drawing competion, Patriotic song recitation.. Dress code is a good idea, but BE AWARE that you should not drape the tricolor in an indecent manner...so to be on safe side dont organise any dress code..let people come in their Casual dress as this is also the weekend day.
take care
