My manager told me on 3rd June that the company has no work to give me, so you look for a job somewhere else. They even put my salary on hold without even informing me prior to the situation. When asked, they said, we had a talk that we don't have any work to give you. What are my rights in this regard, and what should/can I do? I am eligible for fair compensation.

You have definitely a right to receive the salary as due as well as payment for the notice period. They are forcing you to resign to save that expense. You should give a reply quoting the discussion and stating clearly that you are not going to resign. You may mention that you will explore legal options if the rights are denied.
