Seema Gopal
Hi Seniors,
I am working with a start up company. People in my company are having very critical skill sets. When I got a clue that an employee is looking out for a job then I speak to them to find out what's the reason. If the reason is work, salary or designation then it can be easily managed. But the reason I found was they need a change, as they have been working with us for past three years or more.
Kindly suggest what can be done to retain employees who are looking for change?
Thanks and Regards,
Seema Gopal

HI
I think u need to get specific as to what kind of change are they looking for.
Obviously they feel that they can get better projects, salary and designation outside, and change is just a terminology which encompasses everything.
Needs are obviously unique for every individual, so u may have to dig deep to find the change that they need.
The same thing has happened with my friend also, where he wanted to change inspite of having everything in the present job. His frnds with same experience were paid more and so he also wanted the same.

Dear Seema,
According to my point of view you should have the exit interviews of the employees who have already left the company and try to find out the main reason or the meaning of change:
- May be they need motivation
- May be their is less opportunities for promotion
Corrective measure you may take:
- Try to involve the employees in planning so as to enhance their feeling about their affiliation with the company.
- Try to cascade the vision and mission to all of employees
- Try to motivate the people and encourage the employees
- Try to create team work and give importance to every one.
Hope these will help you pls keep sharing knowledge at my email address at .

dear seema gopal,
As you understand, the CHNAGE is inevitable part of our life whether official or personal. People tend to look for change for so many things.
In order to keep the employfee love the job more and more is to motivate him, and perhaps think of rotating the job etc.
Talking to those employees will be good idea in order to know their feelings. It may be helpful for you individually and for organisation also.
Even if your efforts couldnot stop him ...say 'Best Wishes' to him after all the changes may bring him good one.
wishes always
