I don’t think there is anything wrong with you or with him. Just for a moment try to keep yourself in his position.

You might think that travelling across the world in a nice thing…but it is not. At that level, you lives a dog’s life and work across the clock. I don’t think there is a need to comment on Indian style of work or American style of work. Any style of work, if it increases the productivity and efficiency is a good style. He is in a position where he is able to see the work of Singaporean staff as well as Indian staff, might be for Singaporean staff, he is not required to provide all the information and everything in detail; his team understands what he wants; he is not required to micro-manage them. By seeing the trend on CiteHR, I can feel that our people need all possible details to do the thing…at times it so happens that in the process of giving details…the manager himself does the work. People do not understand instructions. People do not want to extend for an extra-mile of struggle to get the things done. These are just few scenarios. Such things can irritate any manager.

Just the way you did here. Instead of seeing within, if you have any area of improvement, you are finding fault with your manager / your boss. Also, note that the work style changes from a small to a mid to a large company. It also changes from being a local company to being a national level company to a Multi-national multi-cultural company.

Just see, what are his expectations and how you are delivering. I am sure it will help.

Hi Shweta,

a real professionally qualified person will always expect quality and 100% professionalism in all official work.

Please try to understand what makes your boss irritated.

If other staffs are also unhappy with him, then also it does not mean that he is wrong.

First identify the reason why he becomes rude, if it is your mistake then you need to make a habbit of not doing so.

This will improve you to get into a senior position later on.

And of course if scolding and shouting of your NRI boss hepls you to be an employee like Singapore office then what is the use of sweet speaking unprofessional culture which never teaches you professionalism and hinders you to be a globally accepted employee.

Moreover, if you really find him rude for no reason, then request him personally in his cabin and tell him that you get upset the way he speaks.

Finally if nothing helps, you can quit but during reference check I wish if he makes good remarks about you to your new employer.

But either you change the job immediately and give your last company's reference and experience letter where you were comfortable or stay here and find out how to deal with this unique personality at least for an year.

Hi Shweta,
It was good to see you in such a type of position. It gives the courage and strength to over come difficult people and situations. Hang on as one and forecast his action and get ready with your action plan. There is much more to learn when you have lots of challenges.
This time its your boss if it is your Top official then. Think about such kind of situations. There would be lots of issues with employees also. But we should have patience. Relax and think. You will get the anwers. Let's wait for some time and there will be definitely some changes. You can emerge as a better person.

It is very common to office cultures now a days , coz of hyperturbulent environment , we are having around the world.
He is bitten by environment and culture diversification and where he is not been able to sustain him as a diversifier. (like u r saying he is half month in India & half month in Singapore).
Just try to organize with some fun stuff , but before you do , you must be familiar with his tastes. So try assessing him , observe and read materials like parsad has provided.
Never loOse your Hope!
As you are HR professional , it is common to us ..nothing new....

I would also suggest an open discussion with him. May be outside the office in a polite manner. Pouring out what you have in mind may bring in some relief. Identify what he needs and get him what he needs.

Boss are always right.So appretiate his way of handling his work.Corporate relationship is all about flattering people.Make your personal Relationship as stronger as your work.
Whereas who would say in this world that don't Pat my back !
so leaving job is not a good option.

I totally agree with my fellow's suggestions. Go ahead, try to understand his mood and attitude. Take this siatuation as a challenge and learning. It will not harm you, but only grow your experience to tackle difficult people, if you take it positively.

Dear,
Every company is having such atoms. If your boss is very rude and not in co-operative nature the best way is tit for tate. Many time it helps a lot. but changing the organisation is not good sloutions for you. Try to find out the way to handle the person. Or even if you were taken the decision to change the organisation , put you resignation and mention the reasion of mental torture by your senior manager, and then see the magic.
