I am planning on completing an internship in the field of HR. I wanted to ask as to what would be the best area of HR I should venture in first and how?

In this era of speed,analytics,accuracy through increased mechanization and competitive customer service and the resultant stress affecting the employees' behaviors coupled with aspiring new generation work force which wants to be always engaged, Industrial Psychology has a great role to play in the following areas.
1) In problem solving relating to behavioural aspects of employees.
2) In designing instructional programmes on motivation as learning and development function and also work as faculty.
3)In finding ways in employee enagement.
4)In research on organisationaldevlopment
5)In hiring- designing psychological tests to spot talent.
6) In strengthening competencies among employees involving the faculty of mind like analysis and decision making or leadership traits like empathy etc.
There is abundant scope for you. Look for these areas.

Good to know you have choose Industrial Psychology.
I am also Masters in Industrial as well as clinical psychology. When I was pursuing PG I gone of Industrial psychology because I wanted to be in HR, I was not sure whether I will be in Recruitment, C&B or training. But I was interested in training and personally I like to speak with the people and like to help them. First 3 years I worked as just a trainer, but my will helped me to get job in HR and now I am working as Assistant Manger in L&D HR Dept.
