An employee getting salary less then 15000/ and he is contributing in ESI. But six months before his retirement his salary is increased to above 15000/ and his contribution is not paid for last six months.
My question is "can this employee now avail the benefits of esi by paying Rs. 120/ PA."

Hi Dear,
Payment of contribution should be done according to Two contribution periods in ESI.
1) 1st April to 30th September
2) 1st October to 31st March.
if an employee's salary enhances in between any of the contribution periods he must be paid contributions till the contribution period ends.
coming to the benefit an employee is eligible for benefit where he works for 172 days in an year.
