Dear Naina,

Who is this "person"? Is this person male or female? Secondly, you have used the plural "women". Therefore, this person beats more than one woman. But then why is this happening?

Whatever the reason for the beating may be and whatever the relationship between that person and the women who are beaten may be, physical assault is a criminal offence. Therefore, approach the nearest police station and register a complaint. If possible, approach an all-women police station. However, you need to have evidence of physical assault. Therefore, before you approach the police, arrange for someone who can take photographs or videos of the violence.

In addition to the police, there are organizations like the National Commission for Women that provide help to women in need. In Bangalore, there is an organization called Mahila Dakshata Samiti that provides free legal services to oppressed women. You may find similar organizations in your city.

Dear Naina,

Ok. You may write your post in Hindi, but please provide the following information:

a) Who is beating whom?
b) Why is this happening? Why are women helpless?
c) What preventive steps have been taken to stop this violence?

Thanks,

Actually, yahan pe kuch log hain jinki pahunch ministers tak hai. Jo jis aurat ko mara gya hai wo ek government teacher hai or uska husband ek sidha sadha aadmi hai jo koi kaam nahi karta lekin social worker hai gaon mein. Wo aurat apna ghar bana rahi hai kyun ki uski beti ki shadi hai. To log zabardasti kar rahe hain ki apne ghar se 2 feet zameen chor kar ghar banaye. Lekin us aurat ke paas zyada zameen hi nahi hai. Aur jis ghar ko tod kar banaya ja raha hai wo lag bhag 53-54 saal purana hai lekin logo ka kehna hai ki yahan se 100 saal pehle ek road nikla hai. Issi behas mein logon ne us aurat ko mara jisme uska sar fat gaya. Jab us aurat ne police station me application di to samjhaota kar k 4 din ka waqt le liya logon or phir ulta counter case kar diya hai. Please bataye main us bechari ki madad karna chahti hun. Abhi sare hi un logo ke dushman bane hue hain ghar se bahar tak.

Dear Naina,

If the woman was beaten mercilessly, then she should not have agreed to the compromise. Anyway, as stated in my first post, you may approach the National Council for Women or other women's help groups and find out what can be done. The problem is that the place you belong to is notorious for lawlessness. It symbolizes all the ills of India as a whole. Therefore, getting justice is not that easy, but you may take a chance.

Dear Naina,

Basically, this is an HR forum, whereas your query was related to a social or personal issue. It is plainly a non-HR query. Nevertheless, as a service to the society, this issue was discussed, and members, including me, have tried to provide a solution. However, beyond a point, it is not considered worthwhile to discuss this issue. Therefore, this thread is being closed.
