The National Onsite Wastewater Recycling Association (NOWRA) welcomes
abstracts for papers to be presented at the NOWRA Annual Conference in
Memphis, Tennessee on April 7-10, 2008. For more information about the
conference, abstract submittal requirements or to submit an abstract on
line please visit: www.nowra.org/abstracts.html
The NOWRA annual conference serves as the premier conference for the
conveyance of new research, regulations and policy, experience and
practices in the decentralized wastewater industry. The conference?s
exposition hall provides an invaluable opportunity to network and view
the current and emerging technologies in decentralized wastewater
treatment.
The 2008 conference is being held on the shores of the Mississippi River
in Memphis, Tennessee and is a follow up of the 2007 international
conference. NOWRA is promoting a holistic view of water and water
resources and is fundamentality interested in promoting appropriate
technology and processes for water and waste water. Based on the
historic, current and emerging issues of the great river city of Memphis
and the overall goals of NOWRA, the theme for this conference is Past,
Present and Future: Water's Value is a Constant.//
In addition to the three day annual conference covering a broad range of
topics relating to onsite/decentralize wastewater treatment, NOWRA will
host a pre-conference session on April 7^th focusing on decentralized
systems and nitrogen and will have a track of the conference April 8^th
through April 10^th focusing on the range of related nitrogen issues
NOWRA is also hosting the 3rd Annual Installer Academy on December 10-12
in Las Vegas. The program is a unique education and training program
provided to advance needed skills, expertise and professionalism, while
also presenting new educational materials. The first pilot training of
the Consortium's Installer training program will be presented during the
conference. See http://www.nowra.org/academy.html for more information.
If you have questions about either event please let me know.

ISO is the International Organization for Standardization situated in Geneva Switzerland. Because "International Organization for Standardization" would have different abbreviations in different languages ("IOS" in English, "OIN" in French for Organisation internationale de normalisation), it was decided at the outset to use a word derived from the Greek ISO meaning "equal". Therefore, whatever the country, whatever the language, the short form of the organization's name is always ISO. ISO is in charge of issuing international standards that different countries can adopt, ranging from quality and environmental management systems to product or material specific standards. The main purpose is that all of the standards that ISO issues have been approved by its 157 member countries making them truly international.
