Dear All Kindly let me know the maximum limit of the voluntary provident fund apart from 12% mandatory PF.

As per payment of wages act, maximum amount of deduction allowed from gross salary is 50% So your PF contribution and all other deductions together can not exceed 50% of gross wages

As per the Payment of Wages Act, 50% of deductions can be made in the form of fines, damages to or loss of goods, house accommodation by the employer, recovery of advances, payment of any premium of an insurance policy, etc. However, the employee can contribute 100% of basic & D.A. as VPF.

The above restriction is not applicable to a case where the salary of person is above Rs 18000/pm. For them any amount can be contributed to EPF But % will remain as 12.

For a person with monthly salary above Rs 18000/- the above limitation is not applicable..But % can be above 12 for employees but employer’s need not contribute equal amount.
