Dear All, I worked with HBL Global Private Limited from Aug-10 to July-13 in Delhi. I resigned from this organization on 4th July 2013. My current employer is asking me to submit the last six months' pay slips as well as Form-16. However, my previous employer is not providing me with the same.
Request for Assistance
Kindly suggest what action I can take regarding this matter so that I can obtain my last 6 months' (Feb to July 2013) pay slips and Form-16 for the assessment years 2011-12, 2012-13, and 2013-14.
Regards,
Sanjay Sharma

Dear Sanjay,
I am not too sure if a company will generate backdated pay slips. If they had been generating them, you would have them with you, but I suppose that is not the case. Form 16 is your right. Maybe they are delaying because you may not have come under the tax net, but that's no excuse, as everybody is eligible for Form 16.
Please inform the HR department that if they don't provide you with Form 16, you will complain to the labor officer in your area. In the meantime, if your salary was credited to your account, obtain the statement from last year and submit it to your new employer. This action may solve your problem temporarily.
