Salary hikes will definitely be affected due to the appreciation in rupee but i think it would be consistent with those of the previous year Others pls comment! Shringarika

ya you are correct but it also depends upon the revenue generated by your particular organization. Its just a thought!

Hi Payal,

If you are the tigress (Champ) in your team, then you can expect a good appraisal of around 25-30%. If not, then limit your expectations to between 15-20%.

Most often, companies offer interim salary hikes to retain their top-performing employees. Remember, companies value good work and reward it accordingly.

The current market scenario sees rupee appreciation already factored in; hence, companies are now making provisions for it. This is particularly evident when someone enters into the RC (Red Contract).

Additionally, the extent of your appraisal also depends on the company you are working for, your job profile, and other relevant factors.

Hi Payal,

The salary depends upon the performance appraisal score that you get and the final score after bell curve. The percentage slab is decided by the company depending upon the yearly turnover (as very well said by Rakesh). If they go for market alignment, then you can expect a good salary.

Hi Farid,

I have a question. If you don't mind, I wonder if Rakesh is right. If the best employee gets a 30-40% hike and others get 15-20%, then how can you use the bell curve? What's the use when we already know how much of a hike we are going to give to the employees? Am I right?

Hi Geeta,

A 30-40% hike for the best employee is not fixed. Actually, it has no limits. Whether the person is in operations, sales, or any other front, each process or end has its own value. The company strives to avoid hiring new employees, which involves training and other resources.

Yes, you are right. The person themselves knows how much increment they will receive in the future based on their work. Sometimes, a good employee is undervalued due to their late-back attitude. One should promptly address any instances of discrimination or bias.

Please let me know if you have any further questions or need clarification.

Thank you.

Payal,

Please tell me about your company in IT (Hardware / Software) so that I can answer your question accurately.

The IT segments have different growth trends and reward policies. Apart from working hard, also focus on working smart to receive a good hike.

Kukreja, Rakesh
