The company is newly registered on EPFO. Can someone guide me through the rules of employee exemption? Are there any rules that help employees be exempted from PF deductions?

Hi, whoever joins your establishment, if they had PF with a past employer, then PF should be continued, and they can't be exempted from PF. However, an employee whose starting PF salary is more than Rs. 15,000/- and if he/she was not covered under PF earlier, then such a category of employee can be exempted from PF. However, you need to collect PF Form 11.

Hi. Thank you for your quick response. Can you help me with what the purpose of Form 11 is? And who should fill it? The employees who are getting registered or the ones who are being exempted?

Hi, Form 11 is a self-declaration form that every employee is required to fill out when joining an organization that comes under the Employees' Provident Fund and Family Pension Scheme.

So, you need to collect it from all the employees and keep it for your records. This will help you know about the past employment PF details of the employees.
