What happens if an employee doesn't accept a PIP?

What will the organization do if the employee doesn't accept a Performance Improvement Plan (PIP)? Can the organization terminate the employee on this basis? Will severance pay be applicable in this case?

Reason for not accepting PIP

The organization has hired me for a defined role and responsibility, but I am not receiving such role and responsibility.

Dear Sunil Kumar,

Please provide us with more details of the case. Kindly confirm when the employee was hired, the role for which he or she was hired, the role assigned, the Key Result Areas (KRAs) of the employee, the shortfall in meeting them, other reasons for placing the employee under a Performance Improvement Plan (PIP), the strategies to enhance performance during the PIP, and the responsible party for its implementation.

Without complete information, it would not be prudent for us to offer solutions.

Thanks,

Dinesh Divekar
