Hi, I resigned from Company A on February 16, 2022, and was serving a 3-month notice period. However, during this period, Company B, where I had secured a job, requested me to join as soon as possible, and I began working there on March 16, 2022. It is important to note that my position at Company B is a contract role. Could this situation potentially impact my future job prospects? Your advice on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Dear AB87, There’s no problem. Your previous employer will be mark your last working day.

Please ensure that your previous employer has marked your exit, and the date of exit is not later than the date of your joining the current establishment. If there is overlapping, you may not be able to transfer the funds from the previous company to the current company. If the previous employer has not marked the exit, then you can initiate it through the member portal now.

Hi,

Company B is a contract job with consolidated pay. I hope PF deduction is not applicable there. In case PF is indeed applicable in Company B, it will be an issue. The Date of Leaving (DOL) of Company A should be before 16.3.22.

If you are required to serve a 3-month notice period with Company A, how did you join Company B on 16.3.22? If you left Company A without informing them, it could lead to a situation of dual employment.

In any case, ensure you obtain a proper relieving order from Company A, and the DOL should be before 16.3.22.
