Hi, Why did you leave without properly handing over your responsibilities? What actions the employer can take is secondary; please don't do so in the future.
Regarding disciplinary action from the employer's end
We are unsure of your employment terms:
- Did you work as a trainee and sign a training agreement where the nature of training involves monetary costs for the employer?
- Did you sign an indemnity bond along with security cheques?
- Or did you just sign a normal tenure-based appointment letter for a stipulated period?
If you had only signed a normal appointment letter, the maximum your employer can do is serve you a warning letter followed by a termination letter, blacklist you, and not consider you for future rehiring. In case of any background verification, they will disclose that you left without notice and were terminated. Otherwise, there will not be any major consequences.
Hence, please adhere to a policy of properly resigning from any employer after serving the notice period and not leaving without informing them.
