I have resigned from my current company. I have a 3-month notice period. I am getting released from the project in one month, after which I will be on the bench. I am requesting HR to reduce the notice period to one month, and for my bench duration, I am ready to buy out. However, HR is not ready to accept it. In case of an emergency, she is asking me to go on leave without pay (LOP), and the notice period will remain 3 months. A new company wants me to join in one month only. How can I convince her to relieve me in one month?

As you mentioned that you are ready to buy out, you can contact your project manager. They will face pressure if anyone on the bench speaks with them. Convince your project manager that you have a family emergency or something urgent, but do not mention that you have a new offer.
