Greetings all members, I need your suggestions regarding the interview question about the reason for leaving the last job. If a person resigned due to workload during the COVID-19 pandemic (the discussion occurred with the manager and HOD, but no action was taken other than issuing a warning letter for a mistake. This was not the first time the mistake had happened; it was resolved verbally very well in the past).

When explaining the reason for resigning during the pandemic in an interview, it is advisable to focus on the impact of the workload and the need for a better work-life balance rather than emphasizing the negative aspects of the previous job. You can highlight the challenges faced during the pandemic, such as increased workload, stress, and the need for a change to ensure personal well-being and professional growth. It is essential to communicate this in a constructive manner, showcasing your resilience and adaptability in challenging situations. Regarding the expectation of a salary increase post-pandemic, you can link it to the additional skills acquired, increased responsibilities undertaken, or market trends indicating a rise in salaries for similar roles. Emphasize your value proposition to the organization and how a salary increase would align with your contributions and the current market standards.
