The Building and Other Construction Workers Act, 1996
The Building and Other Construction Workers (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 1996 is an Act to look after the welfare of construction workers and the conditions of their services. The government collects a cess at 1% of the construction value from the contractor and spends it on the welfare of construction workers.
Workers' Compensation Policy
The WC Policy is an insurance policy taken by the employer to cover the consequential compensation decided by the authority under the Employees' Compensation Act for the employee arising out of any accident while at work.
