I have been working as an HR professional in an organization for one and a half years. When I joined, the company was completely unorganized and in disarray. During my tenure, I rectified everything that was wrong, prepared proper company policies in writing, and assigned clear job roles. The Managing Director of my company is very impressed with my work, and I got promoted. However, I am being targeted by the senior managers who, due to the properly organized culture, cannot engage in their wrongdoings, including my General Manager (to whom I report). My GM is trying to force me to quit my job. Although our MD appreciates me, he does not want to get involved in this situation.

Targeted by Senior Managers
In which way are you being targeted by senior managers? You need to document their behavior and keep informing your HOD about such issues wherever necessary.
How is Your GM Trying to Make You Quit?
Just be calm and do not fall for traps and tricks to make you angry and violate company decorum/rules.
"Our MD, though appreciates me, doesn't want to get involved in this." This is a serious warning sign that if the crunch comes, the MD will sacrifice you. Look around for a change of job. Your attempts to bring things in order were secretly unwelcome in the company, including by the MD also.

Dear Neeta, it's good that you organized all the HR policies and maintained office decorum. The MD of the company appreciated you for this initiative, and his purpose was based on your recruitment in the organization. The MD of the organization is well aware of the uneven work in the office, and you became what he desired.
So, don't worry about your GM's behavior. Your good work will give you backup. You need to stand by your goodwill; no one will harm you.
