Issue with Probation and Relieving Letter
The issue concerns my friend. He is working with a company and joined the organization in February 2018. As per the appointment letter, he has to serve a 6-month probation period. However, the company management suddenly issued a relieving letter to him exactly one day before the completion of the probation period. According to the appointment letter, he is required to serve a 1-month notice period before leaving the job.
Please guide on the steps he should take as the company informed him suddenly that he is no longer required.

I am not able to find anything illegal or inappropriate in the act of the management in sending out a probationer at the end of his probation period as per the terms of the contract of employment. In addition, the termination order doesn't contain anything negative about the employee. Therefore, this is a discharge simpliciter only.
Maybe your friend's overall performance or general behavior would not have been up to the expectation or satisfaction of the management. At this stage, perhaps what your friend needs is self-introspection and a firm resolve to measure up to the expectations of his future employer.
