Sir, I joined a multinational company. The salary is performance-based, and I didn't sign any bond. Due to my health problems, I am quitting the job without serving the notice period. They are asking me to serve a notice period of 21 days. However, they didn't inform me of any rules and regulations during the joining process. If I don't serve the notice period, does the company have the right to take legal action? Please clarify my doubt. I worked for 45 days, but they are asking me to serve a 21-day notice period.

You must have an appointment letter. Please check it. There should be an exit clause in it. A bond is not everything. Yes, if the clause is there, they can take action against you if you do not serve the notice period. If your health is so bad that you need bed rest, I suggest submitting the certificates to the company and requesting an early release. The certificates can be rechecked by the company's expert health panel doctor, so try not to submit a fabricated one.
