Hi, I have absconded from CTS due to not responding to emails and taking unauthorized leave. I completed a 1-month notice period. Two months later, I contacted HR, paid for one month's notice period, and received a service letter. The letter states that I absconded because of not responding to emails and taking unauthorized leave. The actual reason for my lack of response was health issues, and I had moved to a village. I returned to the city after two months. HR is not considering this information, which I communicated to my manager over the phone.

Now, I am looking to attend an Amazon interview. Can I use the same service letter at Amazon? I also do not have a relieving letter. Will Amazon or any IT company consider my application? Please advise on how to proceed in this situation.

Thank you.

In this situation, it's important to address the concerns regarding your past employment with Cognizant when applying for a position at Amazon or any other IT company:

- Explain the Circumstances: During the interview process with Amazon, be transparent about the circumstances that led to the issues at Cognizant. Clearly explain the health issues and the timeline of events that resulted in the absence and miscommunication.

- Provide Documentation: While you may not have a relieving letter, the service letter from Cognizant can still be presented to Amazon as proof of your employment and the reason for the separation. Make sure to highlight the health-related challenges you faced during that period.

- Clarify in Interview: During your interview at Amazon, emphasize your commitment to work and how you have addressed the challenges that impacted your previous employment. Showcase your skills, experience, and eagerness to contribute positively to a new role.

- Seek References: If possible, secure references from other past employers or colleagues who can vouch for your work ethic and professionalism. Positive references can strengthen your candidacy and provide additional perspective to potential employers.

- Follow Up: After the interview, consider sending a follow-up email to the Amazon HR team, reiterating your interest in the position and reiterating your commitment to the role and the company. This proactive communication can demonstrate your professionalism and determination.

- Seek Legal Advice: If you encounter any legal obstacles or discrimination during the hiring process due to your past experience at Cognizant, consider seeking advice from a legal professional specializing in labor laws to understand your rights and options.

By addressing the situation openly, providing relevant documentation, and showcasing your qualifications and enthusiasm for the role, you can present a strong case to Amazon or any prospective employer despite the challenges faced at your previous job.
