Hi, I would like to know the contract labour laws in the State of Maharashtra. Basically, we are contractors, and we are to hire subcontractors for manpower supply for about 200 men for mechanical repair work (Mumbai port). As this is the first time dealing with Maharashtra state, I don't know much about the labor laws of the State. Do we, as contractors, bear responsibility for the labor, or are we to provide benefits, PPE, ESI, etc.? If yes, kindly guide me on what all I, as a contractor, am responsible for.
