Dear All, I have a question pertaining to the leave policy. I have searched through a few sites, and each provides its own answers. Could anyone provide me with an authentic answer to my question? In which kind of leave can intervening holidays be excluded?

It would be of great help if you could respond to this at your earliest convenience.

Thank you all,

Regards, Suresh

[QUOTE=Mantu Singh;1978987] Dear Suresh,

Your question is too short to understand your problem, so kindly clarify in detail...

Dear Mantu,

Thanks for your response. I am not sure in which type of leave (CL, SL, or EL) the intervening holidays can be excluded. For example, if a company operates five days a week (Mon-Fri) and an employee takes leave from Friday to Monday, how should Saturday and Sunday be treated?

I have heard that in certain types of leave, these intervening holidays are excluded, and only two days are deducted from the employee's leave balance. Whereas in some cases, these days are considered as leave, resulting in a total deduction of four days from the employee's leave balance.

Regards,
Suresh

Intervening Holidays in Leave Policy

In which kind of leave can intervening holidays be excluded? Only Casual Leave (CL) will be considered in this case. Most companies consider this a "sandwich leave" and mark the holiday or week off as leave if it falls in between. However, if your company wants to give it, then only CL will be treated. Simple and clear. Chill HR.
