Dear Bipin Gautam,
Nice to see the active participation of new members like you in the CiteHR EHS forum. Keep up the good work and try to be a regular participant in our forum.
Before giving any comments on the subject matter, I would like to know the following things from you:
1. Are you from a manufacturing plant?
2. Is the safety campaign you would like to conduct among the workforce or your employees?
Thank you.

You may try to organize the following campaigns:
Near Miss Reporting Enhancing Campaign
It can be organized among the group of workmen at different locations/sections. Make them aware of the need to report near misses, the reward they will receive for reporting near misses, etc. Create suitable posters showing pictorial representations of what constitutes a near miss and display them in prominent locations. Plan to discuss only near misses for 7-10 days in each toolbox talk organized at your site.
In our plant, we reward Rs. 200 per near miss reported by all employees. One negative aspect I have noticed about this rewarding scheme is that people tend to report fake near misses. Take measures to prevent this by implementing suitable control measures.
Hold Handrail Campaign
This may seem simple, but it serves as a great example of demonstrated commitment. Imagine if your leaders (managers or higher executives) who advocate for safety do not use handrails – what message does this convey? Create relevant posters and display them at the beginning of all staircases with the message "Use handrails while ascending & descending." Make this a topic for toolbox talks for a specific period and send emails to all employees on this subject.
SWP Awareness Campaign
I assume you have a review mechanism for the work to be carried out on your construction site. In our plant, we have a system for creating Safe Work Procedures for all tentative jobs. Therefore, we conduct SWP awareness campaigns. Take different examples each day and explain them to workers. Display safety message boards in each section of our plant. During this campaign, display SWPs in the local language and make the workers familiar with them. Discuss the SWPs during toolbox talks. We even involve workers in creating effective SWPs for the jobs to be carried out.
Use of Seat Belt in Four-Wheelers Campaign
Use of Crash Helmet while Riding Two-Wheelers
Avoid Using Mobile Phones while Driving
Organize On-the-Spot Quizzes for Workers
This will help analyze the effectiveness of all your efforts and assess how much the workers have learned from the campaigns. Offer small token gifts as rewards on the spot.
These are just a few tips; many more activities can be organized. We hope other members will suggest additional great ideas. Please inform us about the campaigns you have successfully executed in your area of work.
Thank you.
