We were earlier using more or less traditional HR processes that were highly manual and had an ESS component for employees. It's been six months since we moved to an end-to-end HR solution that also supports us with ESS, allowing HR to work on more strategic activities.
I wanted to know if all HR professionals think alike. Doesn't the need for this software make sense as the ROI is mind-boggling?

As an HR professional, I feel it's high time to transition to systems and reduce human interventions wherever possible, redirecting resources towards more productive endeavors. I believe that implementing systems and outsourcing will play a crucial role in shaping the future of HR.

I second your thought. My previous companies were using PeopleSoft and Oracle HRMS, but I also found HR colleagues not comfortable with the system. Well, I guess it takes a lot of effort, patience, and time to get used to systems.
Moreover, I don't want to offend, and pardon me if I sound rude... I have observed that people from non-HR backgrounds who are working in HR are very hesitant with HR systems. I am not currently working but wish to join an organization soon that is using a good HRMS platform.

I think the hesitation is due to a knowledge gap or the inability to use cumbersome solutions that are usually available in the market. I personally believe that the HRMS should be user-friendly and intuitive.
Benefits of HRMS Solutions
Management needs to realize the benefits of these solutions as not only is the long-term cost curtailed, but processes like HR can be made more efficient and productive. I feel the onus lies not just on HR, but also on management.
I would like to know why HRs maintain a distance from such solutions?

It is true that when it comes to adopting new software, people do tend to hesitate. New technology is seen as something akin to treading in unknown waters; you don't exactly know the depth of it. The trick, I feel, is to have a session with all the employees, including HR, taking them through the application pre-adoption, and extend a robust support system post-adoption. Once they are familiar with the new technology, they would be able to see the benefit it accrues!
