Hi all, I joined this PSU in lower management in 2005, when the company was making monstrous profits of over 3500 crores. However, at present, the company is facing losses in the thousands of crores. There are numerous ways to address this situation, but the government appears reluctant to intervene and rescue this wholly government-owned company in India from its troubles. The upper management of the PSU is dominated by so-called elite officers who seem to lack responsibility towards the organization. Even the non-management staff can see the issues, so why is the management ignoring their concerns? At times, it feels like this company is also heading in the direction of the XX spectrum. What should be done?

Thank you.

Strategic Change Management: A Gradual Approach

Trying to change things rapidly is not the solution. If you feel that you can, at some point, make a difference, then try to work your way to the top by going with the flow. Use tact and your intelligence to make small changes or cause small changes by telling the right things to the right people. Human beings are probably not corrupt by nature, but with power comes exploitation, or rather the chance of exploitation, which is taken up by a group of people, and then it becomes the norm. You can't fight the majority by trying to change them all at once—you have to start small and discreet and convert one person at a time.

How far you succeed depends entirely on how intelligent and resourceful you are—the more leverage you have, the more chances you have of succeeding. You should start by making a lot of friends by doing small favors and making yourself an important cog in the machine.

Sid
