I have been working with a manufacturing concern for the past 3 years, so I thought of sharing some information that may be of use to you. Usually, in these concerns, HR duties are very complex when compared to other industries. As it deals with lots of manpower running the machinery, we need to take care of every petty incident or task. For payroll, we need to maintain a track record of their overtime timings, date of joining, work areas, etc., as they need to be paid based on the risk level of their job and in accordance with the Factories Act. If you need any other specific information, please let me know; this was just an overview.

Thanks,
Vijaya

Presently, I am pursuing a PGDM in HR & Operations. I am currently in an internship, and in 2 months, I will be in the job market. My background is in B.Tech (Electronics and Communication Engineering). I am very interested in payroll and the manufacturing industry. I have heard that the manufacturing industry is not good for girls. Is this correct? I have received training in HRMS payroll and BI, and I am keen on starting my career in payroll. However, I have not come across any payroll openings for freshers yet. What should I do? I am feeling quite anxious about my career. Please provide me with your valuable suggestions.

Thanks & Regards,
Komali
