Dear All, please advise on the correct definition of minimum wages. Our local labor consultant claims that minimum wages mean only Basic + D.A. He says all the other salary components do not matter. Our company provides Basic + HRA + TA, which is way over the minimum wages. However, if we consider only basic, then we have to increase the basic for everyone. Can somebody please advise?

Make sure Basic + DA/ Special Allowance should not be lesser than the prescribed limit by the Appropriate Government it way differ from one State to Other State.

Dear Sir, Thanks for the quick response. In our company package the basic + HRA + TA is always greater than what is specified in the minimum wages. Will this suffice?
