Dear Friend,

1. When a person is shortlisted for selection for a certain position in the company, he/she is given an Offer Letter or a Letter of Intent.

2. After the person joins the company and all pre-joining formalities are completed, he/she is given an Appointment Letter.

3. During the probationary period, the employee's performance is assessed, and subject to his satisfactory performance during such a period, he/she is given a Confirmation Letter.

If the performance is not satisfactory, the probationary period may be extended as per the rules of the company. In such cases, a Probation Extension Letter is issued.

If the employee's performance is poor/unacceptable, he/she is given a Termination Letter.

I hope the process is clear to you. In case you wish to seek further clarifications, please feel free to contact me.

Please find attached the format for the Offer Letter. I hope this might be of some help to you. You can include the term of the notice period in the offer letter, but usually, it is mentioned in the appointment letter.
