Dear Seniors,

Please let me know in what light it should be taken when the decision-maker of an organization insults the HR in public and expects the same HR to implement policies among employees by force, drop reminders, and send warning emails for non-compliance.

Thanks

Hi,

In all probability, the decision-maker you refer to will be an owner, and normally they exhibit these uncouth tendencies. Occasionally, you will also find some megalomaniacal professional who heads a company also behaving in such an obnoxious manner.

Once HR is insulted in public, the authority of HR is so drastically diluted that most employees will not consider you as having any authority. It is in your long-term interest to change your job. However, until you get the right opening, I guess you will have to grin and bear it, unless you have the guts to continue doing your job in the manner that you deem most appropriate despite the lambasting from the authorities.

Best Wishes

This aspect is very common in every organization, and you must keep in mind that the HR department is there to support the production and QA departments to ensure timely delivery, along with expected quality assurance, and cost control. Sometimes we have to tolerate insults, but at the same time, we have to implement the HR policies as defined by the boss. If you read the above reply ten times, you can understand my point because my point is completely invisible in this reply.

With kind regards and thanks,

Do you suggest I should bring forth the point of view insulting the HR can have reurcussions to her own Organisation in a negative manner and talk it out with her.
