Dear All,

On security verification, can we ask for a police background certificate from the on-roll employees? Should this type of communication be sent from the HR desk or the Security desk?

Firstly, please explain why you want a Police BG Verification of employees? Is it required as per company policy or for some other reason?

Please share so that I can suggest accordingly.

Hi,

It's not company policy. For CTPAT security validation, we need to do this. I think it may be possible for new joiners. But can we ask the 2 or 3 years experienced existing employees? Also, this will be communicated from the security desk or HR desk.

Dear Mr. Prabhakar,

Why don't you communicate from the HR desk that there is a mandatory process coming into force due to which you need to verify the background check of each and every employee, so please cooperate and hire an independent agency to do the background check verification.

Dear Police may not verify the character and antecedents for private sector employees even if asked for. They normally do it for government/public sector employees only. However, you can still request. In the government sector, the request is sent to the District Magistrate for the same. (Rajiv Ranjan)
