Dear All,
Presently, I'm working with an IT MNC for the past 3 months. Prior to that, I have worked with a very reputed group dealing in retail & S/w Devp for more than 2.5 years. I have a total experience of around 3 years. Although I'm very happy with my current profile and company as well, the only problem is that in Chandigarh, growth is very slow, and I look forward to relocating myself to Bangalore or Hyderabad in some good IT concern in another 4-5 months down the line.
I was doubtful about how to go about with my change plan. Should I place my CV with some consultant or apply online? Some time back, I cleared a few telephonic interviews, but the only problem was that I was asked to appear in Bangalore for an interview at very short notice.
Please advise if it would be a wise decision to relocate to Bangalore and what could be the best way to explore my plans. I would request professionals working in Bangalore to comment on the job scenario in Bangalore.
Regards,
Monica

Hi Mamta,
I don't know much about Chandigarh, so comparing it with Bangalore would be difficult. As for career growth and working conditions, Bangalore does provide a good environment. I would suggest that you give your CV to some consultants, and if you clear the telephonic rounds, go for the final interviews; it might be worth it.
Nowadays, there are many flights from Delhi to Bangalore, and ticket fares have also decreased considerably, so you can actually reach Bangalore on short notice. Check out SpiceJet rates at www.spicejet.com or Air Deccan rates at www.airdeccan.net.

Ajmal,
Thanks a lot for your morale-boosting mail. Well, yara, I'm not Mamta... I'm Monica. I think I'll try now. Please keep me posted if you come across any good job opportunities in Bangalore/Mumbai.
MONICA (don't confuse with Mamta) 🙂

Sorry, Monica.
I don't know where I got the name Mamta from, but my opinion stays the same. If you haven't decided on any particular city, then I would suggest Gurgaon and Noida as they also have great companies and offer good opportunities. Plus, it would be nearer to your native. Just a thought...

Dear Ajmal,
Need not apologize. Well, Chandigarh is not my native place. I'm basically from Kolkata, and somehow I didn't like North Indian culture. People aren't as professional as they are in Southern India. Hence, I would like to relocate myself. Plus, I'm interested in continuing in the IT sector, and Bangalore is the hub.
I'll give thought to your suggestion regarding Gurgaon.
Thanks a ton.
Monica :)
