As our HODs are not keeping proper touch with subordinates and we are facing problems in retaining people, I have been adviced to conduct and give lecture on Employee counseling. A few of the HODs are not aware about the method of employee counseling.
Please help me by giving proper guidance and training material for employee counseling.
Thanking you.

Dear Santosh,
Counselling is skill. Mastering any skill takes time and counselling skills is no exception to it.
Building any skills requires training and mere lecturing is not sufficient. There are some secondary skills attached to every primary skills. Counselling skills also have few secondary skills. How are you going to handle all this through lecturing method?
I conduct training for managers. If you wish I will conduct the training for your managers too. However, it will be a paid service. Please obtain permission from your management and we can proceed further.
Lastly, to make you aware of my training activities, I have attached my Training e-brochure to this post.
Thanks,
Dinesh V Divekar

Dear Mr. Santosh,

I believe that you may require a behavioral trainer. First of all your HODs needs training and they should come out of the typical "Boss and subordinate" culture and they should be directed towards the TEAM concept.

Empower the second line people and let them handle a part of the responsibilities, delegation is the more important requirement in your organization.

If you allow to continue the present scenario then it is going to be a threat to your organization as if the seniors leaves then there will be vaccum hence better work out succession plan, delegate and ensure a minimum of 2 successors of each area.

Make it compulsion that every HOD goes on leave for a minimum of 10 days in a year so that you can understand the criticality of each HOD and the potential of the second line person and if required say thanks to some of the seniors to change the culture of the organization.

In the training programs which you are planning ensure that one role play is organized then people will know the importance of the TEAM Concept and understand each other

Thanks and regards - kameswarao
