hi, just try out:
a. HEAD HUNTING, i.e., catching out the competitor's employees, n luring them out if you can offer better package, work timings, job profile, etc..
b. find out if there are any famous recruiting communities in social NETWORKING SITES, paticularly for your city, like in orkut, linkedin, etc. some region specific communities may help you out.
c. mail this to all of YOUR FRIENDS in network. you may get atleast 1-2 more references.
d. you can visit centres which provide training/courses for medical transcriptionists, and from there you can have CAMPUS RECRUITMENTS. they can also give you good references. this data(of training centres) you can get from local directories, yellow pages, sites like google, justdial.com, etc.
e. now a days job sites like naukri and shine.com, have strarted facility that employers can POST FREE JOB VACANCIES for 10-15 days or a month, etc. try it out, friend. it can help you for sure.
f. last but not the least, you can give an advertisment in any newspaper with good circulation at your local newspaper pages. it will give you an immidiate response. if you feel it will be too costly and it may go out of reach of your pocket, still you are left with two ways:
1. get printed pamplets. these are too cheap in cost. get tie up with local newspaper vendors, and get it distributed to all the newspapers at your target areas.
or
2. find out wherever advertisments of your competitors for similar recruitments are coming in newspapers; go and visit such places; just get the idea from where candidates are coming; interact with them, deliver them the pamplets, distribute them your visitng cards, etc. you can also try to take data of rejected candidates, and can sort out better candidates from them.
in short, there are manyyy a ways dear. n 10 days is not a short span of time. keep going.

Dear Raghu,
i don't know why are not familiar with the latest updates in web. There are lots of free job portal who don't charge anything for the recruitment or login's. Again there are so many websites where they provide free data base of candidate who are looking for job. What you have before is a ocean. Only thing is that you have to row it up accordingly...
