Hi, if a company does not have attendance system then how a company will compute whether an employee served for 240 days of continuous service. In my company, we don't have attendance system and they pay gratuity only to those who have served for 5yrs or more than 5 years, because it is difficult to find out the continuous service of 240 days. please suggest here continuous service is the actual working days or when the employee was under the employment agreement.
Thanks,

Hi Bharti,
I wonder how a organization does not have attendance system in place than how you pay monthly salary? Every organization should maintain muster roll which is mandatory under labour law. If you are HR than I request you to implement it soon in your organization.
The day employee starts work under the employer will be taken into account for calculating continuous service.
