Hi everyone, first of all let me all those behind the citeHr as this is the excellent site for HR and those who are in personnel and administration dept.
I am working as a Sr Officer (P&A).
Actually I want to share something about my boss.
My boss is a very nice person, but he has got some drawbacks.
1. he never sits inside his cabin; he sits outside and as a result every one is conscious of his presence.
he even scolds of gets angry with us infront of all which puts us in an uncomfortable situation; sometimes he comments such things unexpectedly in front of others. also whenever he talks on phone we are forcibly compelled to hear his conversation. As a result lot of valuable time is wasted and concentration loses at least for me who sits exactly opposite to him.
Please let me know how can I make him understand to sit inside the cabin.
Thanks once again for such an excelllent work citehr is doing
regards.

I take the privilege of thanking you, for the compliments about CiteHR n its members,
I understand your difficulties. Some of you should make your boss convincingly understand the situation or thro your boss's more proximate persons like auditor/friend etc, u should try.

When there is too much of delegation, bosses find them selves out of job and try to snoop over to get first hand feel of things happening in his domain. Try & put few jobs that tie him down to his chair (in a lighter vein) other wise the suggestion given by ibrahim is quite useful.
I feel if the boss is intervening in your daily routine then he must be communicated straight away. Please remember, that once you start ignoring or accpeting the problems then it will never fade away and the only thing it will do in the future is to frustrate you.
In case he just wants to be with his team and would like to be a part of your team then you guys should try and give him a slot (informally) among yourselves.
This will help you guys gel with your boss also.
Best Regards

Dear N N,
First try to find out why your boss is following this approach, looks like he is not very confident personality, may be insecure, wants to know what his subordinates are doing, analyze his bodylanguage to make a final diagnosis.Scolding subordinates in the presence of others indicates lack of confidence and desire to show to others that he is the boss and in command. Now find out the solution, no staight forward solution is possible, interact more with him , assure him of your confidence in him, if need be, tell him in person that most of the staff will be very happy if he can guide them from his cabin only. If he can agree to that it will be nice since he wont be scolding in front of others. He is the boss so better to find out psychological solution of a triky problem. It will certainly work. Dont forget to give the feedback to forum.

Hi Suvik,
Does your Boss have 1-o-1 session with you guyz?? let him know about your problem clearly but assertively..if not you can catch up with him on breaks & try to befreidnly & u can give your opininon...but it only helps if your boss is ok to take feedback & work upon that...orlse if you & your team feels it is over & above then you may go for skip level...
