Dear Sweta

the situation you r confronted with is very common in organization. The solution of such types of issues is beyond control of the employees who are subordinate to the person causing problems and behaving unethically. this is actually a flaw/weakness of structure of the organization. here is need for interfareness of someone who is not in direct subordination to the CEO/boss but subordinate or reporting to boss of the boss. Say for example, the CEO subordinate to BoD and a cheractor within organization can helpout who is reporting to the Bod directly. therefore the need for the internal audit deptt/section is increasing day by day. he is the one who directly informs to the high ups about operations under the CEO and environment within the organization. Its mis understood that internal audit only checks compliance with finacial rules regulation and only concerned with finance and accounts. he can talk on every issue including values and ethics.
so i wish you have such cheractor there and you can take her/him in confidence.

What kind of ownership is the firm in? If its a closely held Pvt firm, not much point in fighting it out, feedback etc etc. Find the best offer and walk out with sanity ;)

Hi Shweta!

This is a condition what I feel is present everywhere! Because though HR being a very important deptt. say Heart of any organisation need to have a control on each & every thing. It must be a "STRONG" identity in every organisation.
But at the same time what happen some body who heads person heading Hr from some other deptt. wants to control HR person indirectly to show he/she have a total control on the organisation.

If you think that s/p controlling that HR head, two possibilities may be there might be he did not found HR head meeting requirements or he may fiound Hr head totally capable so he have fear to lost his control. But as per the phase I you narrate its clear that fear of loosing his control is there!:icon1:.

I think that changing job is not a good option, because wrold is round might be in other job persons will get change but tendancy will be same. tackle to the situation is the only option available. She should be proactive & stop running aroun him for mini & minute things. She should be firm on her decision & implement those in day to day life ti prove her metal.
let the things done & result will automatically come up!

regards,
prajakta
