I am a student of MBA and currently pursuing a project "Measurement of Effectiveness of Training" in an organization. Please give me some insight into this area. I have started my project by measuring the effectiveness of Management Development Programs. Suggest to me some tools to measure their effectiveness.

Hi,

Just to start with the basics... in case you don't have much idea, why don't you start with a survey of the employees and use a 5-point rating scale to assess the effectiveness of the training? This would establish a baseline for your further project. You could then create an analysis model with the help of some formulas that you can develop in Excel. After that, there are quite a few sites and tools available online. Look for what suits your needs by searching on Google or something similar for Training Analysis. You could also create a Training Analysis template in Excel. Explore sites like Eric Berne or Questia for information.

I have searched a lot on Google, and I am thinking of starting by designing a Training Effectiveness Feedback Form to be filled out by the supervisors of the managers who have attended the Management Development Programs and Empowerment and Organizing Training Programs. How effective do you think this method is for measuring effectiveness? Should I also include a feedback form to be filled out by the trainees themselves?

Hi Pooja,

Feedback forms can be given to the trainees in the form of a simple questionnaire, and stratified sampling can be used. The response sheets of the trainees after attending the program and how they felt before the program can also be surveyed. These results can be analyzed and interpreted using statistical methods like the Chi-Squared test and ANOVA, etc.

Thank you for your suggestions. I am designing a questionnaire that will be filled out by the Reporting Officers of the employees who have attended the MDP program to assess the behavioral changes in them. Regarding the learning aspect, pre and post-tests have already been administered by the organization.

Hello everybody,

I'm doing this project for an organization and have been given two training programs: the Management Development Program and the Mentor-Mentee Program. These programs were conducted 3-4 months ago, and now they want to evaluate their effectiveness.

They have gathered training feedback from employees regarding the programs, but I do not have that information. I have designed a questionnaire for this purpose, but since I lack any pre-training info, I am in a dilemma on how to use the data collected through questionnaires. Jayasreerangarajan advised me to use some statistical tools. I am struggling to determine which tools can be used in this area. Please share details about your project and the tools you are using.

Please help me in this regard. I will also post the questionnaires on this site.

Can we determine the Return on Investment (ROI) of these programs? Since they are behavioral programs, it is challenging to quantify the results.

Hi all,

It is indeed a feeling of great blessing to have all your kindness and suggestions in my project. I'm a second-year undergraduate student. As a part of my curriculum, I am working on a research project titled "Effectiveness on Training" and have completed a set of questionnaires.

I kindly request you to suggest some tools for evaluating my questionnaire. As an undergraduate student, I have a basic understanding of evaluating questionnaires using statistical tools such as the chi-square test, pie diagram, bar diagram, and a few others.
