Go to bed early, and automatically you will wake up in the morning. This will never happen suddenly. You will have to practice. One thing you must know, if you follow anything and practice for one week, that will automatically become a habit. Confidence is nothing but planning and practicing. So, try to do the same thing for at least one week; you will feel the difference.

What you have to do is to go to sleep early. In my case, 10 pm is early. When you wake up in the morning by an alarm, simply don't think about the reasons you should sleep more. Because if you think about any reason to sleep more, you will find one and you will sleep more. Spring from bed, wash your mouth with water, or do any other activity that makes you active. It works for me; hope it works for you too.

Dear Amit,

It's simple - sleeping technique & programming. Before you sleep, you instruct/program your brain to wake you up at 5.00 am or so. You see the outcome! You will wake up exactly at 5.00 am and will not get sleep.

Good day! Manju :-P

I have a struggle in waking up early as well. I need to be up by 3:30 am to prepare and reach the office by 7:30 am. My travel time consumes nearly 3 hours to work and another 3 hours from work to home. I live more than 50 kilometers away from home. So, I have a total of 6 hours of travel time in 24 hours during weekdays.

Thanks for the advice though.

Dear members,

Just out of curiosity, I would like to ask my seniors: Is this website CITEHR going to entertain every silly question asked by any members, or are we here to share knowledge, experience, and professional problems, etc.? I think before answering any questions, we should understand this thing.

This is my point of view. Please correct me if I am wrong somewhere.

Dear Amit,

Eat less at dinner time. I hope you don't have the habit of sleeping late or watching TV just before.

Start with a Sunday. The previous Saturday, sleep early (say at 9:45 or 10:00 pm). Make sure you have dinner between 7:00 and 7:30 pm.

On Sunday morning, set the alarm for 6:00 am (or ask someone to wake you up if you don't respond to the alarm). Get up and go for a walk (maybe for 2 km on the first day). You will find the rest of the day going great. Continue this on Monday, Tuesday, and so on; slowly increase your walking time and distance too.

Let me tell you - I am a girl who loves to sleep early. I am dead asleep by 9:30 pm (so, I am in bed by 9:00 pm). I have dinner between 7:00 and 7:30 in the evening. I don't watch TV 30 minutes before sleep. I had the same problem - difficulty in waking up. I used to wake up at 8:00 and rush to do my morning chores and be at work by 9:00 or 9:10.

Now I started walking every day. After the first or second day, now I automatically get up and crave to go walking. I reach home by 7:30 am after the walk, watch the news, read the paper. By 8:00, I start my other chores, but still find it relaxing and am able to reach work on time.

If a girl like Asha, who in her entire life until last week had never opted to exercise or walk, says that walking is a great experience after trying it, I am sure it's worth a try for you.

Dear Members who felt this was a silly question:

Honey, this is where HR issues begin - late coming! (people post separately to punish people coming late)

Be proactive and advise people on how to come early :-)
