Dear sir,

Thank you very much for your prompt reply. Actually, I have searched CiteHR and could not find much information on the topic "benchmarking of HR practices in the IT industry." I am also confused about how to select the benchmarking partner (from among the many top companies in IT like IBM, WIPRO, INFOSYS, etc.). Do we have to have only one company which is to be taken as the role model (benchmark) and then compare our processes with that of the role model company? Please suggest.

Thank you once again for the prompt reply and awaiting your valuable inputs.

Regards, Swathi

Dear sir,

Thank you so much for the reply and for clarifying my doubt. Now, I would like to request your inputs on the following points:

1) How can we decide whether a practice is best or not? For example, we have the recruitment practices in both Infosys and Satyam, and both are the best in their own way. So now, how do we decide which company's practice is the best and consider it as a benchmark?

2) Also, please let me know if there are any organizations or surveys that provide us with a list of organizations that can be considered benchmark organizations for studies on benchmarking.

Please do help me out.

Regards,
Swathi

Swathi,

For point 1, how do you know that Infosys and Satyam are best in their own way? What yardstick have you used to come to that conclusion?

For point 2, I do not know the answer. I retired from academia 5 years ago and help students with their Research methodology and writing papers for publications. However, giving detailed insight into a topic is beyond me. I suggest that you search the web.

Best wishes,
Simhan
