Dear friends,
I hope you all must have read the below article about the truth of the Taj Mahal?
I got the following as an email forward:
Truth about Taj Mahal!!!! Read Carefully and Think Yourself!!! May be the biggest love story in Indian History is a blunder of historians!!!!
NOW READ THIS.......
No one has ever challenged it except Prof. P. N. Oak, who believes the whole world has been duped. In his book Taj Mahal: The True Story, Oak says the Taj Mahal is not Queen Mumtaz's tomb but an ancient Hindu temple palace of Lord Shiva (then known as Tejo Mahalaya). In the course of his research, Oak discovered that the Shiva temple palace was usurped by Shah Jahan from the then Maharaja of Jaipur, Jai Singh. In his own court chronicle, Badshahnama, Shah Jahan admits that an exceptionally beautiful grand mansion in Agra was taken from Jai Singh for Mumtaz's burial. The ex-Maharaja of Jaipur still retains in his secret collection two orders from Shah Jahan for surrendering the Taj building. Using captured temples and mansions as a burial place for dead courtiers and royalty was a common practice among Muslim rulers.
For example, Humayun, Akbar, Etmud-ud-Daula, and Safdarjung are all buried in such mansions. Oak's inquiries began with the name of Taj Mahal. He says the term "Mahal" has never been used for a building in any Muslim countries from Afghanistan to Algeria. "The unusual explanation that the term Taj Mahal derives from Mumtaz Mahal was illogical in at least two respects. Firstly, her name was never Mumtaz Mahal but Mumtaz-ul-Zamani," he writes. Secondly, one cannot omit the first three letters 'Mum' from a woman's name to derive the remainder as the name for the building. "Taj Mahal," he claims, is a corrupt version of Tejo Mahalaya, or Lord Shiva's Palace. Oak also says the love story of Mumtaz and Shah Jahan is a fairy tale created by court sycophants, blundering historians, and sloppy archaeologists. Not a single royal chronicle of Shah Jahan's time corroborates the love story.
Furthermore, Oak cites several documents suggesting the Taj Mahal predates Shah Jahan's era and was a temple dedicated to Shiva, worshipped by Rajputs of Agra city. For example, Prof. Marvin Miller of New York took a few samples from the riverside doorway of the Taj. Carbon dating tests revealed that the door was 300 years older than Shah Jahan. European traveler Johan Albert Mandelslo, who visited Agra in 1638 (only seven years after Mumtaz's death), describes the life of the city in his memoirs. But he makes no reference to the Taj Mahal being built. The writings of Peter Mundy, an English visitor to Agra within a year of Mumtaz's death, also suggest the Taj was a noteworthy building well before Shah Jahan's time.
Prof. Oak points out a number of design and architectural inconsistencies that support the belief of the Taj Mahal being a typical Hindu temple rather than a mausoleum. Many rooms in the Taj Mahal have remained sealed since Shah Jahan's time and are still inaccessible to the public. Oak asserts they contain a headless statue of Lord Shiva and other objects commonly used for worship rituals in Hindu temples. Fearing political backlash, Indira Gandhi's government tried to have Prof. Oak's book withdrawn from the bookstores and threatened the Indian publisher of the first edition with dire consequences. There is only one way to discredit or validate Oak's research.
The current government should open the sealed rooms of the Taj Mahal under U.N. supervision and let international experts investigate.
Do circulate this to all you know and let them know about this reality.....
Note:
I do not want to hurt any religion here.
It's just a discussion if it is true or not?
How many of you agree with Professor Oak?
Looking forward to your votes !!!!!!!!!

This email has been circulating since 2003. I have received it several times, but when I ask the senders if they have read the book, the answer is always negative. The ASI and UNESCO committee, which is responsible for maintaining the heritage site, comprises knowledgeable scientists who work to preserve this monument.

Hi Nithya,
Yes, this has been posted many times. But it's a wonderful and eye-opening post, so thanks for posting. It is spreading awareness, which is, of course, great! Today, we all know that the Kohinoor diamond or the Peacock throne was originally in India. In the same way, we are opening our eyes to this HUGE secret.

By the way, this is not true only with the Taj Mahal. The Kutub Minar is also the same. It is built with pillars broken down from temples. A stone inscription at the site itself tells the same. I've seen it recently.

P. N. Oak (born 1917), full name Purushottam Nagesh Oak, is a Maharashtrian Brahmin historian associated with the Hindutva movement. His methods and his version of Indian history have been widely rejected.
On July 14, 2000, the Supreme Court in New Delhi dismissed a petition that sought to force a declaration that a Hindu king built the Taj Mahal, as P.N. Oak has claimed. The court reprimanded the petitioner.
"India will teach us the tolerance and gentleness of a mature mind, understanding spirit, and a unifying, pacifying love for all human beings."

Yes, Giri, I appreciate your thought not to create any disharmony among Hindu and Muslim. We have no rights to do that. God created every religion, so every religion must be respected as we are democratic INDIANS!!

Beyond the religion, if you see from the commercial point of view, as the Pyramid is for Egypt, the Great Wall of China is for China, and the Taj Mahal is for India, famous in the world. The maximum tourists who come to India want to see the Taj Mahal. We are getting a boost from foreign tourists in India because of this. If there are professors who have supported the demolition of the Babri mosque and the incidents that happened after the demolition of the Babri Mosque in India between Hindus and Muslims, they may want to repeat the same. They can create anything; they can do anything in this regard.
I am sorry, but please don't mind and let me say that in Maharashtra, we celebrate the birthday of Shivaji Maharaj on two occasions in a year. One date is fixed by Congress, and another is fixed by Shiv Sena. Shivaji Maharaj was born after the construction of the Taj Mahal. It is sad that we cannot celebrate just one Shivaji Jayanti, who fought with the Mughal government. Shivaji Maharaj is an ideal hero of that era, whose life is a lesson in the history textbooks we teach children in school. Similarly, there is a professor in Maharashtra who cannot provide any proof of his date of birth and avoids the two Jayantis of Shivaji Maharaj in a year.

Agreed with the views of Ansari bhai. I don't know why we Indians do not forget the past and start afresh. The Indian Constitution is a marvelous piece; we should cherish the philosophy imbued in it and move ahead. We should progress without any differences of caste, creed, religion, place of birth, gender, color, etc. The young generation, like us, can initiate a revolution! So come on, guys, move ahead and bury the horrendous past.

History is History.....................But, Nothing can be done if you dig for the truth. The sufferers were suffered. Whereas, here, I would like to enlighten the forgiveness of INDIANS and their "Acceptance of Multi-Culture and Religious Society". Our history is totally suppressed by many nations and religions.

Dear,
When you talk about Babri, I wish that it would not have happened........ But what about the incidents between the 16th and 18th centuries for 200 years. And the present as well.
Yes, I agree, after all, as a common man, we are always defeated by our leaders.

Dear Kuljit,
I appreciate your sentiments, and whatever you said was in good faith; but let me make a point here. We do study Indian history to learn how Indians were ruled by the British, right? It is the past, so why do we pass it down generations? It is not to declare war on the British, but to make the generations aware of what happened, so that they know their roots and their ancestors.
Similarly, the Taj Mahal and all such monuments are a part of Indian History, not just mere past. Ignorance is bliss, but awareness is power!

Dear Shikha,
I appreciate your view that we all learn from past mistakes, but my appeal to our fellow generation is that we should bury the hatchet and move ahead. All these discussions only result in animosity and hatred.
The Taj Mahal is undoubtedly a part of Indian history, and we should see it as a monument of love only and not open the graves of what it was before the Taj Mahal. Where does all this lead to?
We already have one contentious issue to contend with, that is the Ram Janam Bhumi and Babri Masjid. Similar agendas will only take us back to the partition days of India, which were truly dark days in Indian history.
I believe people should forget such gory pasts and cherish the beautiful past only, learn from mistakes, and move ahead.

In 2000, India's Supreme Court dismissed Oak's petition to declare that a Hindu king had built the Taj Mahal and reprimanded him for bringing the action, saying he had a "bee in his bonnet" about the Taj.
In 2005, a similar petition was dismissed by the Allahabad High Court. This case was brought by Amar Nath Mishra, a social worker and preacher who says that the Taj Mahal was built by the Hindu King Parmar Dev in 1196.
OAK theories are false.

Religion is not important here. The important fact everyone wants to know is: Who created the Taj Mahal? Since birth, we came to know that Shah Jahan built the Taj Mahal. But that does not mean that whatever we were told since birth is true and that what we came to know recently is false.
Please don't attach religion with facts.
