Hi All,

I just found this forum and was VERY impressed with the quality of the content and posts. I have a question for you all. I live in the US, and there is a heightened focus on Corporate Wellness here - so much so that there is a bill in front of the Senate which offers up to a USD 200 tax credit per employee per year for employers who invest in qualified corporate wellness programs. This is consistent with the focus on Demand Side Health Economics vs the traditional Supply Side.

I would like to understand from this very qualified group what your experience is in implementing Health and Wellness Programs in your companies. Also, if you could comment on what you believe is the interest of Corporate India for such Programs.

Corporate India is interested in Health and Wellness Programs. You can see that most IT companies are providing customized corporate wellness programs. The programs are established and still in progress. I am pursuing my Ph.D. on Employee Wellness Programs in IT and ITes companies in India. I will gather information and keep posting.

Hi,

What has happened in the US is actually good, and in India, the government should take such initiatives. When we look at the legal aspects of Wellness Programs in India, it's just that basic wellness facilities are mandatory and nothing major as such. Nowadays, corporates themselves are taking good initiatives towards EWP. Though the ROI is not very tangible, organizations are still trying to calculate and provide Wellness Programs.

These are my views.

The Importance of Employee Wellness Programs

Well-planned employee wellness programs are essential in today's times, where employee engagement and wellness can sometimes be more important than big paychecks. Cultivating employee loyalty and nurturing organizational culture are crucial for business growth.

Employee wellness programs don't need to be as expensive as having an in-house gym. Cost-effective initiatives like offering subsidized gym memberships or incorporating healthier snack options, such as oatmeal cookies, can be effective.
