Dear all,

I wanted to know what the notice period is that a trade union needs to give to employers before going on strike. Any other relevant information on this topic will be appreciated.

Hi Rahul & Viraj,

Under the Public Utility sector, services that are used on a daily routine include BSNL, MSEB, PWD, etc. Any employer/owner only entertains such a union that has the majority of membership and is registered under the Trade Union Act. Please note that, other than public utility sectors, a 14-day notice period is required to go on strike.

Thank you,
Nilesh

Dear Viraj,

In fact, Viraj, I was experiencing all the above situations when I was working with a company in Pune. You can refer to the ID Act of 1947.

Thanks,
Nilesh

Rahul: What happened? You didn't reply. Please revert.
