As learning and development within an organization matures, it is imperative to measure the impact of the various initiatives, i.e. Training Workshops, Counseling, and Coaching on employee behavior. Additionally, it is important to link the change in employee behavior conclusively to their Key Result Areas (KRAs) and eventually to the goals of that organization.

Presently, a systematic review of training is both cumbersome and time-consuming for many organizational Learning & Development teams. Additionally, there is no set paradigm that looks at measuring the learning impact of a training program and the effects of its long-term results. Implementation of S-LIM is designed to enable organizations and their internal learning and development teams to understand and measure the overall impact of learning initiatives on corporate goals.
