Hi All
Its Surprising to see the state of shock the HR fraternity is in. Its been months since we got the blow of recession giving a major setback to the Manpower and Human Resources. Leaving ONE thread posted by Jatin I guess there haven’t been any threads on this topic. How about sharing your experiences on LAYOFF’s?

Hi Sajid,

It's weird that the HR professionals here in the UAE are least bothered about employee welfare in their organizations. Well, now the situation in companies is not in the control of HR. The instructions from Directors and General Managers are overruling the whole established system of HR, and employees are being terminated. Though NOCs are being provided to these victims, but who's going to hire them?

Dear Jatin, Sajid,

The situation, as explained, has spiraled out of control from the already helpless hands of HR. What can one do when the volume is in hundreds and thousands? The rate and stories are mounting with each passing day. Let's hope for the best. Maybe our new friend, Obama, has some magic in store for the whole world, and we wish for it.

Hi Friends,

Decisions are no longer in the hands of HR. In fact, many companies are downsizing their own HR departments. It's been a bad year, but I hope that by the end of '09, things will start shaping up. As economists and analysts said, "it was just a bubble that was waiting to burst," and it's happened. I'm sure that from now on, precautions will be taken.

Now, coming to the people who have lost their jobs, it is really terrible as they all seem to be in some sort of debt that is much greater for them to handle without a job. There are no precautionary measures taken by people today to ensure safety or resources in the event of any failure or setback.

A survey was conducted, and it said that 78% of people don't save because of various forms of obligations and debts. Nevertheless, I pray that things improve and people get back on track.

Regards, Sandeep
