Hello Sir,

The format you attached here is really very useful and new to me. However, this sheet is protected via a password. Could you please advise what the password is? I need to change it as per my company's leave policy.

Dear,

You need to add one or two more criteria, i.e., similar to HD, you may add Short Leave (SH) or you can use some other codes which I have used, i.e., you may change LP into SH. You need to unprotect all the sheets, then in the master sheet, change LP into SH. Then add one more column in all the sheets, i.e., Jan-Dec at the end and calculate the sum as SH/4.

The password for the file is "shiv." You may need to change some more validations accordingly.

Thanks & Regards,
Shiv

Hi Rohit,

Please make the following changes: unprotect the sheets, the password is "shiv."

Now, let's say you want to change the weekly off from Saturday to Friday in January. Just copy cell G5:G34 and paste it in F5:F34. Then, copy the data from I5:I34 and paste it to G5:G34. This will change your first weekly off. Similarly, do this for all week offs in all months.

You can change ML (A11) to CL and modify the description to Casual Leave instead of Mandatory Leave. The same changes will be updated in all the sheets automatically.

Please try this and let me know. Unfortunately, I am currently quite busy, so it will not be possible for me to work on individual requests at this time.

Shiv

Guys,

Why do I always receive the following whenever I try to open the file:

"You can only download ONE file in TWO minutes. Please wait for 2 mins for your next turn to download. The System Will Automatically Retry In 60 Seconds. You can retry yourself by clicking here."

By the way, could you email me the leave record tracker to wavebrembo@hotmail.com?

Mr Shiv.. I can easily make out that u work for my company. Please delete all the links relating to the company. It will be an audit issue considering the department u r working for.

Hi Buddy,

Thanks a lot. Even I thought the same after uploading the template, but then I realized that all the links are intranet links and will not work on the internet, so it will not be an audit issue. However, I have still removed the template and will upload a new one.

Thanks & Regards,
Shiv

Hi Rekha,

Few points that you need to keep in mind while using the tracker are:

1) Update only white cells.
2) Use the master tab to update details of all individuals in your team during the year. Keep on updating the same on a regular basis.
3) Update blank holidays according to your organization. This is used on all the sheets to calculate net working days.
4) Update staff names in January.
5) Let's say at the end of January, someone has resigned; you can use the "R" code for the same. In February, you can replace that individual with a new one by selecting from the drop-down menu (as you are updating the list of all team members in the master sheet).
6) I have considered two days as weekly offs. You can simply move it to any other day.

This tracker is very simple to use and understand. Let me know in case you have specific questions regarding the same.

Thanks & Regards,
Shiv

Hello Dhanesh,

I went through your leave record format, it's really good, but I have a query. Is it only for a single user or can it be used for multiple users? I tried to use it but every time it overwrites the single user. I am a bit confused because if it is for a single user, then why have you mentioned the number of rows for multiple users in sheet 2 (Leave balance)?

Please guide me so that I can use it in my organization.

Hello,

I work for a software company and I am responsible for handling the HR duties here. I maintain leave records on a daily basis, which is very simple with a daily record format.

Please check the attachment, which will give you a clear idea of the process.

Hi Shiv,

Thank you once again for the wonderful leave tracker. You have created sheets (Yearly PL) for Monthly PL Record and Monthly Sickness (Yearly SL) Record in the Leave Status category, but there is no separate sheet for Casual Leaves. I would like to add the same. Can you please explain it to me systematically or make the changes in the leave tracker as per my request and send it to rensat_2000@yahoo.com? It would be of great help.

Seeking your advice. Please do the needful.

Dear Dhanesh Kumar,

Sir, could you please tell me how to make an Excel sheet password protected? I want to ensure the following:
1) No changes can be made in any cell after the final preparation of the sheet.
2) The Excel file itself cannot be opened by anyone else except the one who password-protected it.
3) No sheets can be deleted or added after the final preparation.

Thank you very much for the guidance.

Hi,

Thanks for sharing the Leave Tracker. Could you please help me with loading the Analysis ToolPak?

You can load the Analysis ToolPak by following these steps in Excel:
1) Go to Tools
2) Select Add-Ins
3) Check Analysis ToolPak and Analysis ToolPak - VBA
4) Click Ok
5) Close Excel and reopen it. The Analysis ToolPak should be functional.

Alternatively, you can visit the instructions page in the Leave Tracker and click on "Load the Analysis ToolPak," which will automatically load it for you.

Many thanks.

Regards,
Shiv
