Hi,
There is no ready-made employee engagement activity. Initially, you should understand the pulse of your employees, and as per the findings, frame your own employee engagement activity.

Thanks for the suggestion! 😊 But there are 400+ employees in our organization, so everyone has a different view. We have to arrange the activities according to them. Do you have any suggestions for the same? What activities are being conducted in your organization, or do you feel that any activity can have a positive impact? 🌟

Hi,
You can try different activities for different sets of people. Say different things for different departments if people have varied requirements. But someone rightly said that you need to catch the pulse of the people. Above all, you cannot please everyone, but consider the views of the majority or seek majority consensus and proceed. Do not worry about what people will say; when your department's intention is good, there will be no problems. Once the activity is properly publicized, people will automatically be attracted to it.
Please remember that all these activities should focus on all people and should not cater to just one group of individuals.
All the best,
Ritul Pathak :)

First, get a survey done on what the employees of your company feel. What are their grievances? Boring training programs are a serious turn-off where people hate HR for arranging such stuff. Find out what our objective is and what kind of activities you are looking forward to. The activity should be fun, such as brainstorming games, that will make employees look forward to it. Everybody likes challenges, so give them something that will help them use their brain. The catchphrase is "think out of the box"! 😄

Hi,
An employee engagement program should help us increase teamwork and team building within employees while also providing a fun experience. Conduct a business quiz based on the number of nominees; form teams and plan rounds such as eliminations and preliminaries. Carry out team-building activities. Make employees the owners of the event and have them conduct an activity each week. You can assign departments to conduct events, which will encourage their involvement.
As you initiate these events, you will develop your own ideas. Remember to reward the winners with surprise gifts, as this will definitely motivate them to participate.

You could try some of the engagement activities like:
- Fun week: Various competitions/contests each day.
- Colour Week: Dress colour codes.
- Food carnival: Employees to cook & display through food stalls on a chargeable basis.
- Email quiz.
- Cubicle decoration competition.
There are many more things you could do to make the environment very lively.
Hope this helps.

Though some of the so-called fun activities may also help in engaging employees temporarily, let us first be very clear about the terminology of 'employee engagement'.
Employee engagement is defined as the state of intellectual and emotional involvement employees have in an organization. The involvement, understanding, and motivation an employee has in his/her job, and the employee's attitudinal attachment towards the organization, show the actual engagement of the employee. Key drivers of employee engagement would be mainly the cultural and value integration across the organization through our HR systems.
A Gallup study (although a bit old, but still valid) shows the following breakdown of actual employee engagement:
Only 36% of employees are actually engaged. These employees are loyal and psychologically committed to the organization. They are more productive, more likely to stay with their company for more than a year, less likely to have accidents on the job, and less likely to steal.
49% of employees are not engaged. These employees may be productive, but they are not psychologically connected to their company. They are more likely to miss workdays and more likely to leave.
15% of employees are actively disengaged. These employees are physically present but psychologically absent. They are unhappy with their work situation and insist on sharing this unhappiness with their colleagues.
Please feel free to initiate more discussions on this topic.

Hi all,
And Happy New Year to you all. By now, you should have caught the pulse of your employees. Here are some activities that could help:
1. Nature trails on weekends (Facility may be arranged by HR).
2. Paint the canvas (All can paint on one big canvas with a theme given like winter, environment, or even a road safety week).
3. Slogan and poster competition.
4. New Year resolution contest (Where the best resolution gets the award).
5. Arrange a food festival in the canteen (14th Jan is up; you can give Sankranti menu for Maharashtrians, Lohri Menu if in North India). During this, ask your contractor to drape your canteen employees in that traditional dress.
6. Of course, training MDP programs like "Passion to Win" and Team Building would be of help.
These are some activities you can think of.
Regards,
Amit
