Hi Hema,
"Hi All,
What is the standard CL & EL availed to employees according to the law? Does CL & EL vary from company to company?
Hema"
Yes, this differs from company to company and the general practice as per my company follows:
CL - 12 days in a year, one CL per month. This is given at the beginning of the year for confirmed employees.
PL - 2.5 days per month, viz. 30 days in a year. This accrues at the end of the financial year; therefore, the person gets 30 days + last year's EL balance - PL availed in the year.

Hema,
Yes, it varies from industry to industry. The law says the total of PL, CL, and SL should be equal to or more than 30 days, which generally adjusts according to their policies.
As per my company, we have:
CL = 6 (0.5 per month)
SL = 6
PL = 20 (1.66 per month)
Out of the above three, PL and SL can be transferred to the next year, but CL lapses.
Feel free to seek any further clarifications on the above.

Hi,
That depends on the leave calendar you follow. This is a question related to whether it is a calendar-based leave.
So, in short, while creating the leave type, you can describe whether it is calendar-based or non-calendar-based. If it is calendar-based, you can define the period.
I hope you are not lost.

Hi expert, I am working in an IT MNC in the Gulf for the past year. When we came here, we didn't ask for any policies from our company. Now, we have raised this issue, and they have come up with policies such as:
- Leave policy: 10 days annual leave and 2 days sick leave
- No travel expenses covered; we have to take care of them ourselves
Please advise on how to approach and what to request from them according to the law, if applicable. Thank you for your valuable time.
