Dear rajeevinder1979,

Do you intend to send this mail in your personal capacity or on behalf of the company?

Generally, no congratulatory mails are sent on completion of just one year of service. It implies that either your company is quite new or she is the first person in your company to complete one year, in which case it definitely calls for celebration! A letter for completion of the probation period or confirmation of services is more customary.

However, the decision is yours - you can definitely send a congratulatory mail to her for completing one year if, in your opinion, it is a great accomplishment; considering the fact that I have hardly any information about your company or your employee.

But it is a good start if you continue this in the future too with all employees who complete one year, and do not stop at celebrating the anniversary for just one particular employee.

In a lighter vein, here's what one HR person in a company wrote to his favorite employee on completion of one year:

Dear Miss XYZ,

We are really fortunate to have you with us. It is a matter of great pleasure that you have completed one year in our company, and we have really enjoyed the time you spent with us.

In our company, everybody works hard, but nobody completes one year with us.

We wish you all the best and hope you will be with us till death do us apart.

Yours very sincerely,
ABC

Last heard; he had been fired from the company for taking the initiative of sending a letter on his own, helped by his friends in drafting it.

Warm regards.
